Certificate and Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England Level 2, 3 & 5

The suite has qualifications at Levels 2 & 3 there are pathways for those wishing to specialise in Dementia or Learning disabilities and generic qualifications which offer a wide range of optional units to create a bespoke learning experience.

 

These courses are for those wanting to work with children and young people in Health and Social Care environments in England, will need to complete either:
  • L2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce – for those working under supervision
  • L3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce; Social Care Pathway – for those working in senior roles.
  • L5 Diploma for the Children and Young People's - Residential Management; Management; Advanced Practice; and Adult Residential Management; Adult Advanced Practice.

  

  

Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care

What do the qualifications cover?

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs, and health care procedures.

 

It has three pathways ‘Generic Health and Social Care’, ‘Dementia’, and ‘Learning Disability’.

 

Who is it aimed at?

All those who wish to work or are working in a supervised role with adults in health and social care environments in England.

 

What are the entry requirements?

Learners should be at least 16 years old.

 

How many credits are required to complete the qualification?

The Diploma will require 46 credits in total.

 

How are they assessed?

It will be internally assessed by a range of methods. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments.

How long do they take to complete?

Learners can usually complete the Diploma in a year or less.

 

 

Do learners need to be working to take these qualifications?

Learners will need to be working or on practical placement in a health and social care environment as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

This qualification is to guide and assess development of knowledge, understanding and skills in management and advanced practice within health and social care and children and young people’s services.
