Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)

 

This initial teacher, tutor, trainer qualification is designed for those who:

  • Are new to teaching, training or tutoring in the lifelong learner sector
  • Want to be a teacher or trainer in the lifelong learning sector
  • Want to update their underpinning knowledge and teaching or training skills.

This qualification is a requirement for all those who are new to teaching, training or tutoring in publicly funded provision and is the first step towards the Level 3/4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector for those in an associate teacher role and/or the Level 5 Diploma for those performing the full teaching role.

 

Training:  Five assignments covering the teaching role, teaching and learning approaches, session planning, delivering inclusive sessions and assessment, and which include a minimum of 15 minutes observed micro teaching practice and a further 45 minutes observing others teach. 

 

Duration is 5 days or over 5 Saturdays at our Ilford training centre.

 

Qualification: Level 4 in PTTLS.  To achieve this qualification only one mandatory of 6 credit points. There is no exam at all, but assignment must be produced in form of portfolio.
