What does the qualification cover?

This qualification develops the basic knowledge needed when working with adults in the social care sector. It covers the role of the social care worker, safeguarding, communication, diversity, equality and inclusion, and personal development.

It is a must have for anyone taking the adult Health and Social Care apprenticeship at Level 2.

 

Who is it suitable for?

Anyone working towards a career in adult health and social care in a supervised job role.

 

What are the entry requirements?

You should be at least 14 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

 

How many credits are required to complete it?

The Certificate requires 20 credits.

 

How is it assessed?

It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a portfolio of evidence.

 

Do you need to be working to take the qualification?

No, this is a knowledge only qualification.

 

How long does it take to complete?

You can usually complete it in 6 months.

 

What related qualifications can you progress to?

The Level 3 Diploma in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care or the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults).
