NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

This qualification is designed for teaching and classroom assistants who work across primary, secondary and special schools across the UK.

The qualification will help candidates accomplish a broad range of skills related to pupils welfare/care and behaviour e.g administration, supporting individuals during therapy sessions and promoting positive relationships.

In providing support for individuals or groups of pupils, Teaching Assistants will encourage independance by helping pupils to develop self-esteem, self-reliance and learning skills as well as increase their subject-related knowledge, understanding and skills.

Entry requirements

No minimum entry levels required but trainees will be assessed for basic levels of English proficiency. Learners must either be working or working as a volunteer in a course related organisation.

It provides the values and principles that underpin the National Occupational Standards in Support Teaching & Learning in Schools Level 2.
